About Switchback
We’re a small, Ann Arbor-based web development company that specializes in Drupal and CiviCRM. We love building complex web applications that solve interesting problems. Some of our current projects include the University of Michigan’s open courseware platform, an intranet file-sharing resource for a multi-state non-profit, and a patient survey system for medical research. We don’t do a lot of brochureware, nor are we a design house.
Our goal is to build a dynamic, team-driven company that provides a flexible, balanced, and enjoyable work environment. We are still a start-up, so we are particularly interested in people who want to help us grow into a great business.
About the Position
We’re looking for someone who is, or would like to become, an expert in front-end Drupal development; someone who is a reliable self-starter, and ready to be part of a small, close-working team. Your job will be basic configuration of Drupal modules, set-up of content types, views, panels, etc., as well as implementation of custom themes. This is not a engineering position, nor is it heavy in graphic design—most of our clients supply the designs for their websites—we need you to excel at making them a functional reality!
You should be familiar with current trends in HTML/CSS (Javascript/JQuery a definite plus), and would ideally have at least a year of experience working in Drupal. But, if you’re a quick learner and passionate about the field, as well as have good experience in other content management systems, such as WordPress or Joomla, we’re open to learning more about you.
We have an immediate need for the right candidate. This position is contract-to-hire, so you can get a feel for our culture—a good fit is just as important to us as your mad skillz. Pay will be based on your experience; we offer competitive salary and benefits for our full-time employees. Flexible work schedules and telecommuting may also be options, depending on your capabilities.
