About Switchback

We’re a small, Ann Arbor-based web development company that specializes in Drupal and web application development. We love building complex web applications that solve interesting problems. Some of our current projects include the University of Michigan’s open courseware platform, an intranet file-sharing resource for a multi-state non-profit, and a patient survey system for medical research. We don’t do a lot of brochureware, nor are we a design house.

Our goal is to build a dynamic, team-driven company that provides a flexible, balanced,  and enjoyable work environment. We are still a start-up, so we are particularly interested in developers who want to help us grow into a great business.

About the Position

We’re always looking for a serious developer who enjoys working on these types of challenging, long-term projects; someone who is a reliable self-starter, and ready to be part of a small, close-working team. At Switchback, you won’t be a cube jockey, but play a major role in developing each project you work on. 

Ideally, you’ll have two or more years experience working with Drupal, particularly in the LAMP environment, with PHP and MySQL. But, if you’re a quick learner and passionate about the field, as well as have a solid background in PHP, we’re open to learning more about you.

This position may be direct or may be contract-to-hire, so you can get a feel for our culture—a good fit is just as important to us as your mad skillz. Pay will be based on your experience; we offer competitive salary and benefits for our full-time employees. Flexible work schedules and telecommuting may also be options, depending on your capabilities (local preferred, U.S. only).
